Delete your account

You can delete your My Daily Challenge account and its data at any time, in the app or by email.

Delete in the app

  1. Open My Daily Challenge and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile.
  3. Scroll down to Account and tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm. Your account is deleted right away and you are signed out.

No access to the app?

Ask us by email

  1. Send an email to info@dedaldev.com from the email address you use to sign in, with the subject “Delete my account”.
  2. If you signed in with Apple and chose to hide your email, write from any address and include the relay address Apple created for you (it ends in @privaterelay.appleid.com). You can find it on your iPhone in Settings, your name, Sign in with Apple.
  3. We may ask you to confirm the request, so that nobody else can delete your account. We delete the account within 30 days, usually much sooner, and let you know when it is done.
Have Premium? Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it first in your store account: on iPhone in Settings, your name, Subscriptions; on Android in the Google Play app under Payments and subscriptions.

What is deleted

  • Your sign in account in Firebase Authentication: email address, account identifier and sign in method.
  • Your profile answers and selected focus areas.
  • Your challenge history: assigned and completed challenges, ratings and reflection notes.
  • Your devices and push notification tokens.
  • Events in our own event log that are linked to your account, which are deleted or made anonymous.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Backups: encrypted backups of our database can still contain your data for up to 30 days, until they are overwritten.
  • Purchase records: records of purchases and subscription events, held by us, RevenueCat, Apple and Google, are kept as long as needed for accounting, tax and legal obligations. They are linked only to the random account identifier, not to your profile.
  • Analytics: data already sent to Google Analytics for Firebase, Smartlook and Meta is deleted automatically under the retention settings of those services, at most 14 months for Google Analytics for Firebase. If you ask, we will also request deletion of the data linked to your account identifier from these services.
  • Deletion record: our server keeps the random account identifier and the date of deletion, without your email address or profile, to show that the request was handled and to stop the deleted account from being used again.
